Ceramic – Slip Casting

For this project, the fascinating process of ceramic slip casting was combined with one of the most characteristic Japanese principles of aesthetics: Wabi Sabi ( Despondency + solitude). This concept originated from buddhist teaching and embodies three realities: impermanence, suffering and emptiness.

These pieces try to interpret this style in the asymmetric shape, the slanting edge and the combination of different glazes.
